This gorgeous Bookcase was a surprise gift that was commissioned by the husband for their 25th wedding anniversary. The wife always wanted a bookcase and LOVES gingko leaves. The design challenge was to create a case that was one-of-a-kind and fit with the rest of their home. The construction challenge was building it at a very low humidity and shipping to the muggy Midwest. As a result there are 53 pieces to this case. The hand carved gingko leaves are like tile blocks in the design. For aesthetic Morrow likes tops on crown molding so artwork can be displayed. Morrow devised a system of blocks and braces to attach the molding to the case and the top to the molding that will allow for wood movement.

Needless to say the wife cried when she found out this bookcase was hers. A brass plate inside says,” Grow old with me, the best is yet to come.”
